Basketball Recap: West Comes Up Short

West was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss dating back to last season. They were beaten by the Ridgeview Wolf Pack 60-18. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Vikings of the 66-43 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in December of 2024.

Akasia Jackson had another great game (as she tends to do), dropping a double-double with 20 points and ten boards for Ridgeview. Thanks to that strong game, Jackson now owns an excellent 45.2% field goal percentage. Victoria Smith-Chaplin was another key player, putting up six points and six rebounds.

West's loss dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Ridgeview, their victory bumped their record up to 3-4.

West will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on South at 6:30 p.m. on January 6, 2026. As for Ridgeview, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 70-36 win against Wasco on the 12th.
