With a playoff win on the line, Hillgrove rose to the challenge on Friday. They skirted past the North Paulding Wolfpack 28-25. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Hawks have posted since September 6, 2024.

Leading Hillgrove to victory were Donovan Mack and Jaiden Moore. Mack rushed for 70 yards and one score, while Moore rushed for 152 yards and one touchdown while picking up 8.4 yards per carry. Moore's rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 152 rushing yards. Hillgrove also relied on Jabari Green, who's 48-yard boot wound up being the difference in the game.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Hillgrove was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 279 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 152 rushing yards in ten consecutive games.

When it comes to explaining why North Paulding lost, don't look at Tyler Niehr. Despite the final result, he threw for 238 yards and one TD. Another big playmaker for the Wolfpack was Kingslee Simpson, who returned a punt for a touchdown.

Hillgrove's victory bumped their record up to 9-2. As for North Paulding, they moved to 8-3 with that loss, which also ended their four-game winning streak.

Looking ahead, Hillgrove will challenge West Forsyth at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. That matchup will pit two of the most dominant backs against one another: Moore and Andrew Davis. North Paulding does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
