Basketball Recap: Cornerstone Christian Now 11-1 over Last 12 Games

It's playoff time, and Cornerstone Christian had no trouble coming through when it counted. They came out on top against the Sacramento Adventist Capitals by a score of 55-46 on Wednesday. This was payback for the Cougars, who suffered a 54-41 loss the last time these two teams met.

Sacramento Adventist's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Victoria Fowler, who dropped a double-double with 17 points and ten boards. That's the most rebounds Fowler has posted since back in November of 2024. Another player making a difference was Kyla Friedrich, who shot 71% from the field to rack up 13 points and six boards.

Cornerstone Christian is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 20-10 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.6 points over those games. This is the second loss in a row for Sacramento Adventist and nudges their season record down to 21-8.

Coming up, Cornerstone Christian will square off against Fall River at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Sacramento Adventist does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
