Soccer Game Preview: San Gabriel vs. Bell Gardens

San Gabriel is 1-8-1 against Bell Gardens since January of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The San Gabriel Matadors will head out on the road to challenge the Bell Gardens Lancers at 5:30 p.m.

San Gabriel will bounce into Wednesday's contest after beating Schurr, who they had gone 0-8-1 against in their nine prior meetings. San Gabriel's defense stepped up to hand Schurr a 2-0 shutout on Monday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Matadors.

Meanwhile, Bell Gardens had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. Neither they nor Alhambra could gain the upper hand on Monday so the two teams had to settle for a 2-2 draw. The result (or lack thereof) marked the Lancers' first draw of the season.

With that draw, Bell Gardens' record moves to 4-6-1. As for San Gabriel, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 10-3-2 record this season.

San Gabriel suffered a grim 7-0 defeat to Bell Gardens in their previous matchup back in January of 2024. Can San Gabriel avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
