Softball Recap: David Emanuel Academy Extends Road Winning Streak to Five

David Emanuel Academy let Robert Toombs Christian Academy stack four runs on them in the third inning on Monday but luckily David Emanuel Academy prevailed anyway. The Eagles skirted past the Crusaders 7-5. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 4-0 two weeks ago.

Rayleigh Faircloth was a major factor no matter where she played. She struck out 12 batters over seven innings while giving up four earned (and one unearned) runs off ten hits (and only one walk). That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in August. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one home run.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Payton Peebles, who went 3-for-4 with two RBI and one run. Another player making a difference was Bailey McNure, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI.

David Emanuel Academy pushed their record up to 18-3 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.8 runs over those games. As for Robert Toombs Christian Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-9.

Looking ahead, David Emanuel Academy will venture away from home to challenge First Preparatory Christian Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Highlanders have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 16.53 runs per game on average), something the Eagles will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Robert Toombs Christian Academy, they have already played their next contest, a 7-1 loss against Charlton County on the 8th.
