Softball Game Preview: Washington County Golden Hawks vs. Screven County Gamecocks

The Washington County Golden Hawks are taking a road trip to face off against the Screven County Gamecocks at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.

While Washington County's win against Putnam County wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Golden Hawks sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 7-5 victory over the War Eagles on Thursday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Golden Hawks have posted since August 22, 2024.

Meanwhile, Screven County gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Wednesday. They had just enough and edged out Statesboro 3-2. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.
