Softball Recap: Gatewood Takes a Loss

Gatewood entered their game against Briarwood Academy on Thursday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Gators took a 6-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Buccaneers. The match marked the Gators' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Gatewood saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Alexis Thrift, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one double.

Gatewood's defeat dropped their record down to 6-3. As for Briarwood Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 4-5.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Gatewood will square off against rival Brentwood at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Briarwood Academy is set to take on their familiar foe Thomas Jefferson Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
