Basketball Recap: Ashlynn Bell's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Orestimba over Fortune Early College

Orestimba saw some tournament action on Friday. They fell 56-49 to the Fortune Early College Panthers. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Warriors came into the matchup with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 411th, while the Panthers are ranked 895th).

Several Warriors players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Ashlynn Bell, who posted 11 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Olivia Gray, who scored 12 points.

Orestimba has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-3 record this season. As for Fortune Early College, they moved to 1-5 with that victory, which also ended their six-game losing streak.

Orestimba didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 41-39 loss against Ripon on the 14th. Fortune Early College has also already played their next matchup, a 67-41 defeat against Riverbank on the 14th.
