Soccer Game Preview: Summit Tamalpais vs. Jewish Community

The Summit Tamalpais Timberwolves will face off against the Jewish Community Wolves at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Summit Tamalpais is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of California's top teams: Cristo Rey De La Salle, who was ranked eighth at the time (Summit Tamalpais was ranked sixth). The Timberwolves took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Mustangs two weeks ago. The loss was Summit Tamalpais' first of the season.

Their goal came courtesy of Giuliana Carranza, who's now up to five this season.

Meanwhile, with a playoff win on the line, Jewish Community rose to the challenge on Tuesday. Their defense stepped up to hand the Cougars a 1-0 shutout.

Having lost for the first time this season, Summit Tamalpais fell to 9-1. As for Jewish Community, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season.

Everything went Summit Tamalpais' way against Jewish Community in their previous matchup back in April, as Summit Tamalpais made off with a 7-1 victory. Do the Timberwolves have another victory up their sleeve, or will Wolves turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
