Basketball Recap: Southwest EC Takes a Loss

Southwest EC was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They had to suffer through a 48-10 loss at the hands of the Calexico Bulldogs. The matchup marked the Eagles' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Calexico found their leader in sophomore Ivanna Camarillo, who posted 14 points in addition to six rebounds and four steals. Camarillo has been hot recently, having posted three or more steals the last four times she's played. Evalyn Rubio was another key player, putting up five points along with six boards and three steals.

Southwest EC's defeat dropped their record down to 2-13. As for Calexico, their victory bumped their record up to 5-10.

Southwest EC didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 67-15 loss against Central on the 8th. Calexico has also already played their next matchup, a 56-41 defeat against Vincent Memorial on the 13th.
