Recap: Contra Costa Christian Cougars vs. Mendocino Cardinals
After flying high against the KIPP San Jose Collegiate Wolfpack on Thursday, the Contra Costa Christian Cougars came back down to earth. Contra Costa Christian took a 47-40 hit to the loss column at the hands of Mendocino on Friday. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Contra Costa Christian in their matchups with Mendocino: they've now lost four in a row.
When it comes to explaining why Contra Costa Christian lost, one person who can't be blamed is Addison Faber. Despite the final result, she scored 25 points. Faber scored a full 62.5% of Contra Costa Christian's points, the fourth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Hailey Terwilliger was another key contributor, scoring 7 points.
Contra Costa Christian has fallen quite a ways from their 19-5 record last season and are now at 1-3. As for Mendocino, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
Contra Costa Christian will be staying on the road on Saturday to face off against Pacific Bay Christian at 3:00 p.m. on December 2nd. Mendocino will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Willits at 6:30 p.m. on December 12th.
