Baseball Recap: Willard Falls Short Against Ranked Kickapoo

Willard faced Kickapoo in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Tigers fell just short of the Chiefs by a score of 3-2. The Tigers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Chiefs apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2025.

Willard's loss dropped their record down to 26-8. As for Kickapoo, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 13 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 23-9 record this season.

Willard didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, an 11-2 victory against Bolivar on the 15th. As for Kickapoo, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Neosho at 6:30 p.m.
