Soccer Recap: Hollister Comes Up Short

Hollister entered their matchup against Salinas on Tuesday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Hollister Haybalers lost 5-1 to the Salinas Cowboys. The Haybalers were probably out for revenge after losing 2-1 to them when the teams met back in February of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

The loss was their first at home , dropping their record down to 6-4-1. As for Salinas, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-1-2 record this season.

Hollister will square off against Everett Alvarez at 5:45 p.m. on Thursday. Everett Alvarez is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 3.2 goals per game this season. As for Salinas, they will challenge Rancho San Juan at 5:45 p.m. on Thursday. Salinas also hasn't been messing around on offense: they've averaged 3.8 goals per game.
