Soccer Game Preview: Calaveras vs. Summerville

Calaveras is 1-9 against Summerville since January of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Calaveras Red Hawks will be playing at home against the Summerville Bears at 5:30 p.m. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

If Summerville heads into halftime all tied up, they better play a good second half: that's when Calaveras took over last week. Calaveras walked away with a 3-1 win over Riverbank on Thursday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Red Hawks.

Kendra McGee and Aliyah Leyva scored all three of Calaveras' goals, bringing their combined season tally to ten goals.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Summerville). Their defense stepped up to hand Big Valley Christian a 3-0 shutout on Thursday. Give the Bears' defense some credit: that's the team's third straight shutout.

Summerville's victory bumped their record up to 4-6-2. As for Calaveras, their win bumped their record up to 6-3-4.
