Basketball Recap: Bedford County CIA Comes Up Short

On Friday, the Bedford County CIA Agents came up short against the Mercersburg Academy Storm and fell 38-26. While losing is never fun, the Agents can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 502nd, while the Storm are ranked 12th).

When it comes to explaining why Bedford County CIA lost, don't look at Betsy Brennan. Despite the final result, she posted eight points along with nine rebounds and eight steals. The dominant performance also gave Brennan a new career-high in assists (four). Another player making a difference was Madison Cotchen, who had eight points and seven boards.

Bedford County CIA now has a losing record of 8-9. As for Mercersburg Academy, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 16-6.

Bedford County CIA has already played their next match, a 32-31 win against Blair County Christian on the 18th. As for Mercersburg Academy, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 49-47 defeat against Hun on the 15th.
