Basketball Recap: Providence Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Providence played a tough game on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were dealt an 81-45 defeat at the hands of the Independence Patriots. The loss continues a trend for the Panthers in their meetings with the Patriots: they've now lost six in a row.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Independence to victory, but perhaps none more so than Lusemo Macharia, who dropped a double-double with 13 points and 13 boards. Thanks to that strong game, Macharia now owns an excellent 51.9% shooting accuracy. The team also got some help courtesy of Dylan McFarland, who went 5-for-10 to rack up 11 points along with six assists and five rebounds.

Providence's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Independence, their victory bumped their record up to 3-1.

Providence has already played their next contest, a 64-60 win against Piedmont on the 4th. As for Independence, they will head out on the road to challenge Dorman at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Patriots will need to watch out since the Cavaliers have now posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.
