Basketball Game Recap: Foothill Cougars vs. Red Bluff Spartans

If Red Bluff wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Foothill, they should've done a better job of containing Kalli Smith. The Foothill Cougars came out on top against the Red Bluff Spartans by a score of 67-54 on Friday thanks in part to Smith, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and 17 boards. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 8.2 rebounds per game.

Another player making a difference was Kyndal Whitehouse, who posted 12 points and four steals. Those four steals gave her a new career-high.

Foothill's victory was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 10-8. As for Red Bluff, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-11.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Foothill will take on Enterprise at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Foothill has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Red Bluff, they will face off against Pleasant Valley at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
