Recap: Avalon Lancers vs. Western Christian Fighting Lancers
The Avalon Lancers can finally bid farewell to their four-game losing streak thanks to their game on Friday. They managed a 48-42 victory over Western Christian. That's another feather in the cap for Avalon, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Western Christian's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was CeCe Balderrama, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 13 rebounds. Madi Bauer was another key contributor, scoring six points along with 12 rebounds and five steals.
Avalon's win bumped their record up to 5-9. As for Western Christian, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost ten of their last 11 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-18 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Avalon will square off against The Webb Schools at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Western Christian, they will head out on the road to square off against Newport Christian at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
