Soccer Recap: Rancho Cotate Comes Up Short

Rancho Cotate was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They were one goals away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Marin Catholic Wildcats. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Cougars of the 5-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in December of 2023.

Their goal came courtesy of Jazlene Alanis, which was the first she's scored this season.

Rancho Cotate's loss dropped their record down to 0-5-1. As for Marin Catholic, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-2-2.

Rancho Cotate will head out on the road to square off against Elsie Allen at 7:00 p.m. on January 15th. As for Marin Catholic, they will welcome Archie Williams at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Marin Catholic's last six games have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
