Softball Recap: Fredericktown Gets the Win

Fredericktown's game on Saturday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Saturday. They had just enough and edged out the Notre Dame Bulldogs 6-5.

Becca Mangold spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and two unearned) runs on ten hits.

At the plate, Brylie Allgier and Michaela Reagan did most of the damage at the plate: Allgier went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI, while Reagan went a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI and one double. That's the most RBI Allgier has posted since back in August.

Fredericktown's win bumped their record up to 13-4. As for Notre Dame, their loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 8-6.

Fredericktown has already played their next matchup, a 14-4 victory against Sikeston on the 30th. As for Notre Dame, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 16-1 win against Central on the 30th.
