Softball Recap: Mercy Takes a Loss

Mercy extended their losing streak to four on Friday, dropping them down to 3-8. They came up short against the Elkhorn South Storm, falling 14-0. The Monarchs were not able to make up for their defeat to the Storm from their previous meeting back in September of 2018.

As for Elkhorn South, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 9-4. The result was nothing new for the Storm, who have now won eight matchups by seven runs or more so far this season.

For Elkhorn South's part, they got a massive performance out of Ella Fowler, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and four RBI. Those four RBI gave Fowler a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kacie Hinrichs, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, two doubles, and two RBI.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mercy will face off against Elkhorn at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Elkhorn South, they will welcome Pius X at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
