Basketball Game Preview: Audenried Rockets vs. Neumann-Goretti Saints

The Audenried Rockets will take on the Neumann-Goretti Saints on Saturday. One thing working in Audenried's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last eight matchups.

Audenried is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Saturday. They claimed a resounding 67-27 victory over Northern Lebanon. The Rockets have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 12 contests by 22 points or more this season.

Shayla Smith continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, putting up 21 points. Nasiaah Russell was another key player, scoring 11 points.

Meanwhile, Neumann-Goretti faced Scranton Prep in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. Neumann-Goretti came out on top against Scranton Prep by a score of 59-48. Winning may never get old, but the Saints sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

She continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Carryn Easley, who almost dropped a double-double with 16 points and nine rebounds.

Audenried is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten games. That's provided a nice bump to their 23-7 record this season. Neumann-Goretti's record now sits at 24-4.

Audenried was able to grind out a solid win over Neumann-Goretti when the teams last played back in February, winning 77-66. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Easley, who put up 26 points. Now that she's got a second chance to win this matchup, will Audenried still be able to contain Easley?
