Baseball Game Preview: Stratford Academy Eagles vs. John Milledge Academy Trojans

The Stratford Academy Eagles will challenge the John Milledge Academy Trojans at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.

Last Friday, Stratford Academy needed a bit of extra time to put away Central Georgia Arts. They had just enough and edged out Central Georgia Arts 2-1.

Meanwhile, John Milledge Academy sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 7-5 win over Wilmington Christian Academy on Friday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Trojans.

Remington Weaver made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Will Adams, who scored a run while going 3-for-4. Those three hits gave him a new career-high.

Stratford Academy's victory bumped their record up to 8-6. As for John Milledge Academy, their win bumped their record up to 12-3.

Stratford Academy beat John Milledge Academy 9-5 in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Will the Eagles repeat their success, or do the Trojans have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
