Softball Recap: Fort Calhoun Comes Up Short

Fort Calhoun managed to slip by Yutan-Mead the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Pioneers came up short against the Patriots on Saturday, falling 9-1. The Pioneers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Fort Calhoun saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Emily Warfield, who went 1-for-2 with one run.

Fort Calhoun's defeat dropped their record down to 11-5. As for Yutan-Mead, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-4 record this season.

While Fort Calhoun had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
