Recap: Marion Center Stingers vs. Conemaugh Valley Blue Jays
In what's become a running theme this season, the Marion Center Stingers gave their fans yet another huge win on Wednesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Conemaugh Valley 56-26 on the road. Given Marion Center's advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 78th, while Conemaugh Valley is ranked 608th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Several Blue Jays players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Penelope Reininger, who scored nine points along with six rebounds and two steals.
The win was the third in a row for Marion Center, bringing their record for this year to 13-3. They've been dominating during the matchups in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 35 points. As for Conemaugh Valley, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-13.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Marion Center will face off against Purchase Line at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Purchase Line focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 last Friday. Conemaugh Valley won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Shade at 7:15 p.m. on January 18th. Shade is on a four-game streak of home losses, Conemaugh Valley a 15-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck is about to change.
