Football Game Preview: Olathe East Hawks vs. Shawnee Mission South Raiders + How To Watch

The Olathe East Hawks will face off against the Shawnee Mission South Raiders on Friday. Olathe East has given up an average of 29.5 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

On Friday, Olathe East came up short against Lawrence Free State and fell 35-27. The Hawks have struggled against the Firebirds recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Shawnee Mission South, who bounced back after a loss on the road two weeks ago. They walked away with a 30-17 victory over Shawnee Mission West on Friday. The Raiders have beaten the Vikings the last three times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Vikings has come to flipping the script.

Shawnee Mission South didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Isaiah Channell and Corey Grant. Channell also set a new season-high mark in total tackles with seven. Rowan Minnick was another major factor on D, making 11 total tackles (2.0 for loss) and defending one pass.

Shawnee Mission South's win was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 2-2. As for Olathe East, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-3.
