Softball Game Preview: Carrollton Trojans vs. Newnan Cougars

The Carrollton Trojans will venture away from home to face off against the Newnan Cougars at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Carrollton will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.

Carrollton barely beat North Cobb the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Trojans were the clear victors by a 6-0 margin over the Warriors on Tuesday. Considering the Trojans have won eight contests by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Newnan faced off against Starr's Mill on Wednesday. The Cougars lost 13-1 to the Panthers. The defeat continues a trend for the Cougars in their meetings with the Panthers: they've now lost four in a row.

Newnan's loss dropped their record down to 11-16. As for Carrollton, their win bumped their record up to 17-2.

Everything went Carrollton's way against Newnan in their previous meeting back in August of 2024, as Carrollton made off with a 16-2 victory. Do the Trojans have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Cougars turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
