Soccer Recap: Oconee County's Higher State Rank on Full Display on Tuesday

After losing to West Hall the last time they met, Oconee County decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Oconee County Warriors never let the West Hall Spartans get on the board and left with a 2-0 victory on Tuesday. Given the Warriors' advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia soccer rankings (they are ranked 41st, while the Spartans are ranked 140th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Brendan Groft and Noah Lynall scored both of Oconee County's goals, bringing their combined season tally to three goals.

Oconee County's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-3. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those three matchups. As for West Hall, they now have a losing record of 3-4.

Coming up, Oconee County will face off against West Forsyth at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. West Hall will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Monroe Area at 7:30 p.m. on March 21st.
