Softball Game Preview: Arvada Bulldogs vs. Jefferson Saints

Arvada is 7-1 against Jefferson since October of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Bulldogs will take on the Saints at 4:30 p.m. Arvada knows how to get runs on the board -- the squad has finished with ten runs or more in their past four matchups -- so hopefully Jefferson likes a good challenge.

Arvada's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 15-0 margin over Adams City. The result was nothing new for the Bulldogs, who have now won 12 games by nine runs or more so far this season.

Alyssa Moreno made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and only one walk). She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, three RBI, and one double.

In other batting news, Amiah Picaso was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and two RBI. That's the most hits she has posted over her last ten matchups. Amaya Krantz was another key player, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI.

Arvada always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .600. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .574 or higher in four consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, Jefferson came up short against Adams City on Saturday, falling 17-5. The Saints have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Arvada's record now sits at 13-2. As for Jefferson, their loss dropped their record down to 2-10.

Arvada took their victory against Jefferson in their previous matchup back in September of 2024 by a conclusive 18-6 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bulldogs since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
