Softball Recap: Jenkins Takes a Loss

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Jenkins and Islands meet (two straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Tuesday. The Warriors came up short against the Sharks, falling 27-17. Even if the Warriors couldn't come away with the win, the high-scoring effort was a great turnaround for their hitters, which had struggled int the games prior.

Jenkins saw eight different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Gabby Barnum, who fired off two home runs and four RBI while getting on base in all five of her plate appearances. Ma'Kaiyah Gray was another, going 1-for-5 with three runs, four RBI, and one stolen base.

Jenkins' loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 3-15. As for Islands, with the victory, they broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 4-9.

Jenkins wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 16-0 defeat against Savannah Christian on the 24th. As for Islands, they have also already played their next contest, a 13-9 win against Calvary Day on the 25th.
