Baseball Recap: Northview Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Northview entered their tilt with Druid Hills on Tuesday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They came out on top against the Red Devils by a score of 7-3. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 4-3 on March 6th.

Carter Gooch tossed a big game, tossing 6.1 innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off eight hits.

At the plate, Northview got a massive performance out of Liev Kilman, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. Kilman has become a key player for the Titans: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 4-12 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Graham Forney, who went 2-for-3 with four RBI and one double.

Northview kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 4.6 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 games they've averaged 10.8.

Northview's record is now 6-13. As for Druid Hills, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 12-11.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Northview will square off against Southwest DeKalb at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Panthers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.41 runs per game on average), something the Titans will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Druid Hills, they will face off against St. Pius X Catholic at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
