Basketball Recap: Long Beach Poly Extends Winning Streak to Three

Long Beach Poly had already won two in a row and they went ahead and made it three on Monday. They managed a 43-38 victory over the Jordan Panthers. Given the Jackrabbits' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 97th, while the Panthers are ranked 386th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Long Beach Poly had a senior duo take command as Joy Anderson dropped a double-double on 18 points and 21 rebounds and Nevaeh Lemons dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten boards. The contest was Anderson's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Milia Misher also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

Jordan lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Jah'Asharee Moore, who almost dropped a double-double on 11 points and nine rebounds. Another player making a difference was Savannah Hernandez, who posted six points and seven boards.

Long Beach Poly has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 13-4 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.7 points per game. As for Jordan, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-9.

Long Beach Poly has already played their next game, an 80-27 win against Cabrillo on the 15th. As for Jordan, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 62-46 victory against Woodrow Wilson on the 15th.
