Football Recap: Valley View Tigers vs. King Brahmas
Valley View came into their game on Friday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They took a blow against the King Brahmas, falling 34-7. The Tigers lost against the Brahmas in their previous head to head back in October of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 56-0 score last time.
It was another big night for Damarius Montgomery-Buckley, who rushed for 180 yards and two TDs while picking up 9.5 yards per carry for King. Montgomery-Buckley's rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 117 rushing yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Isaac Cason, who rushed for 59 yards on only six carries.
Valley View's defeat dropped their record down to 1-5. As for King, their victory bumped their record up to 4-2.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Valley View will host Calallen at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Wildcats will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something the Tigers surely won't give up without a fight. As for King, they will look to defend their home field on Thursday against San Antonio Memorial at 7:00 p.m. The Brahmas will be up against the Minutemen's rather soft defense (which has allowed 44.2 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
