Baseball Game Preview: Jordan Red Jackets vs. Chattahoochee County Panthers

The Jordan Red Jackets will head out on the road to square off against the Chattahoochee County Panthers at 1:00 p.m. on Monday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Jordan is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 16 runs on Monday, they were much more limited against Opelika on Thursday. They came up short against the Bulldogs, falling 11-2. The loss was the Red Jackets' first of the season.

Jordan saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cole Williams, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. That's the most RBI Williams has posted since back in February of 2024.

Meanwhile, Chattahoochee County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 15-0 to Shaw.

Having lost for the first time this season, Jordan fell to 2-1. As for Chattahoochee County, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-3.

Chattahoochee County's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Monday. Jordan has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 9.3 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Chattahoochee County, though, as they've been averaging only 4 strikeouts. Will Jordan keep running through batters, or will Chattahoochee County buck the trend?

Jordan took their victory against Chattahoochee County when the teams last played back in February of 2024 by a conclusive 11-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for Jordan since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
