Carlsbad is a perfect 10-0 against Mission Hills since January of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Lancers will be defending their home court for the first time this season when they go up against the Grizzlies at 7:00 p.m. Carlsbad has given up an average of 59.2 points per game this season, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Carlsbad saw some tournament action on Saturday. They fell 59-48 to Corona del Mar. While losing is never fun, the Lancers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 100th, while the Sea Kings are ranked third).

Meanwhile, Mission Hills waltzed into their matchup on Wednesday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They took down the Eagles 54-40.

Mission Hills' victory bumped their record up to 5-2. As for Carlsbad, they now have a losing record of 4-5.

Carlsbad beat Mission Hills 67-59 when the teams last played back in December of 2024. Will the Lancers repeat their success, or do the Grizzlies have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
