Baseball Recap: Amherst Comes Up Short

If Amherst was feeling good fresh off their 19-3 takedown of Manawa on Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Falcons came up short against the Omro Foxes on Friday, falling 16-5. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Falcons of the 4-3 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2019.

Amherst saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Michael Glodowski, who went 1-for-4 with two runs. Sully Perkins was another, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.

Amherst's loss dropped their record down to 13-7. As for Omro, their record is now 13-4.

Coming up, Amherst will host Weyauwega-Fremont at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Omro, they will venture away from home to square off against Laconia at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
