Soccer Game Preview: Alameda vs. Marin Academy

The Alameda Hornets will head out to square off against the Marin Academy Wildcats at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

While Alameda fans will have to keep waiting for their squad to come home, they shouldn't be too worried about the road trip considering the result of Tuesday's season opener. They blew past San Leandro 6-2 on Tuesday. The score was close at halftime, but Alameda pulled away in the second half with three goals.

They hit San Leandro with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Holly Becker (2), Olivia Vu (2), Maya Quillici, and Iskra Mikovic.

Meanwhile, Marin Academy gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Tuesday. Their defense stepped up to hand Archie Williams a 3-0 shutout.
