Football Recap: Homer Takes a Loss

Friday just wasn't the day for Homer's offense. They were dealt a 28-0 defeat at the hands of the Minden Crimson Tide on Friday. Having soared to a lofty 36 points in the game before, the Pelicans' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Minden's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Lucas Owens Jr. led the charge by rushing for 106 yards and two touchdowns. Caylien Aubrey was another key player, rushing for 92 yards and one score on only 12 carries.

Homer's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Minden, the victory also got them back to even at 1-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Homer will welcome Haynesville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Minden, they will host North Webster at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
