Soccer Game Preview: Clairemont vs. University City

Clairemont is 1-6 against University City since January of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Clairemont Chieftains will face off against the University City Centurions at 6:00 p.m. Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Clairemont is headed into Friday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their tenth straight game on Wednesday. They were a single goal away from ending the streak, but they lost a 1-0 heartbreaker at the hands of Hilltop. The game was a 0-0 toss-up at halftime, but the Chieftains couldn't quite close it out.

Meanwhile, University City was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They fell 3-1 to San Diego.

University City's goal came courtesy of Hayden Goldstein, which was the first she's scored this season.

Clairemont's loss dropped their record down to 1-11. As for University City, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-7-3.
