Soccer Game Preview: Hoover vs. Burroughs

Hoover is 0-10 against Burroughs since December of 2018 but things could change on Friday. The Hoover Tornados will welcome the Burroughs Bears at 3:30 p.m.

Hoover is headed into Friday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their seventh straight game on Thursday. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Pasadena. While losing is never fun, the Tornados can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 862nd, while the Bulldogs are ranked 347th).

Meanwhile, Burroughs kept a clean sheet against Glendale on Thursday. They were the clear victor by a 6-0 margin over the Nitros. Considering the Bears' offense had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Burroughs' victory was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-0-2 and their overall record up to 5-4-3. As for Hoover, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-10-1.

Hoover might still be hurting after the 6-1 loss they got from Burroughs when the teams last played back in January of 2024. Can Hoover avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
