Soccer Game Preview: McIntosh vs. East Coweta

The McIntosh Chiefs will venture away from home to face off against the East Coweta Indians at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

East Coweta will be up against a hot McIntosh squad: the team just extended their winning streak to three. McIntosh never let Dutchtown get on the board and left with a 10-0 win on Friday. The Chiefs' defense has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a goal in their last three matches.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask East Coweta). They were the clear victor by an 8-1 margin over Shaw on Thursday.

McIntosh's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-1. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 18 goals over those three games. As for East Coweta, the win got them back to even at 2-2.

McIntosh was able to grind out a solid victory over East Coweta when the teams last played back in March of 2024, winning 3-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for McIntosh since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
