Basketball Game Preview: Tri-City Christian Eagles vs. Del Lago Academy Firebirds

Having just played yesterday, the Tri-City Christian Eagles will head out on the road to face off against the Del Lago Academy Firebirds at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Tri-City Christian is headed into the game after thoroughly thrashing Maranatha Christian: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Tri-City Christian blew Maranatha Christian out of the water with a 49-10 final score. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 30-5.

Meanwhile, Del Lago Academy hadn't done well against Escondido Adventist Academy recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Del Lago Academy put the hurt on Escondido Adventist Academy with a sharp 48-23 win. The victory was nothing new for the Firebirds as they're now sitting on three straight.

Tri-City Christian is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-4 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 24.0 points over those games. As for Del Lago Academy, their win bumped their record up to 13-8.

Tri-City Christian beat Del Lago Academy 40-27 when the teams last played back in January. The rematch might be a little tougher for Tri-City Christian since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
