Football Game Preview: Circle Thunderbirds vs. Augusta Orioles + How To Watch

The Circle Thunderbirds will head out to take on the Augusta Orioles at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Circle is coming into the matchup on a six-game losing streak.

Circle fought the good fight in their overtime game against Fort Scott on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took a 20-13 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Tigers. While the Thunderbirds didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Tigers 13-0 in the first quarter.

Meanwhile, Augusta hadn't done well against McPherson recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Orioles were the clear victors by a 50-29 margin over the Bullpups. The victory was some much needed relief for the Orioles as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Circle's loss dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Augusta, they picked up their first road win, bumping their record up to 2-5.

Circle was able to grind out a solid victory over Augusta in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, winning 25-14. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Thunderbirds since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
