The Charlotte Catholic Cougars will head out to challenge the Porter Ridge Pirates at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Charlotte Catholic has six straight victories, Porter Ridge has five straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

On Saturday, Charlotte Catholic beat Charlotte Country Day School 66-54.

Meanwhile, Porter Ridge had to suffer through a 69-41 loss at the hands of Cuthbertson. While losing is never fun, the Pirates can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 401st, while the Cavaliers are ranked 38th).

Charlotte Catholic's win bumped their record up to 8-1. As for Porter Ridge, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-7.
