Basketball Recap: Heritage Christian Snags Sixth Win in Last Seven Games

Heritage Christian won the last time they faced Denver Academy, and Alec Lundy did his part to make sure it happened again. The Heritage Christian Eagles breezed by the Denver Academy Mustangs to the tune of 79-44 on Friday thanks in part to Lundy, who posted 35 points. That makes it three consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Heritage Christian's points.

Anderson Platz was another key player, putting up seven points. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in points.

Despite the defeat, Denver Academy saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Riley Allen scored 21 points in addition to six assists and five boards. Another player making a difference was Chris Janssen, who put up nine points.

Heritage Christian is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.3 points per game. As for Denver Academy, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-8.

Heritage Christian will welcome Lyons at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Lyons' favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last seven matches.
