Basketball Recap: Elite Comes Up Short

Elite played a tough game on Wednesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were beaten by the Fortune Early College Panthers 51-12. The loss continues a trend for the Eagles in their matchups with the Panthers: they've now lost four in a row.

Several Eagles players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Malaysia Green, who posted three points and four steals. Those three points gave Green a new career-high.

Fortune Early College's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Heaven Graves led the charge by putting up 13 points and three steals. Another player making a difference was Omiia Stearne, who earned eight points in addition to 11 rebounds and four steals.

Elite's defeat dropped their record down to 2-19. As for Fortune Early College, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 9-7 record this season.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Delta the next time they take the court. Elite will head out to face Delta at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, while Fortune Early College will head out to face them at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
