Softball Recap: Cherokee Bluff Wins Going Away Against Oconee County

Cherokee Bluff got themselves on the board against Oconee County on Tuesday, but Oconee County never followed suit. They were the clear victors by a 10-0 margin over the Warriors. The victory continues a trend for the Bears in their matchups with the Warriors: they've now won six in a row.

Lillie Diehl made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. What's more, she posted two strikeouts, the most she's had since back in October of 2024. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run.

In other batting news, Cherokee Bluff let Audrey Graham and Addy Cagle run wild. Graham went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI, while Cagle went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs and one RBI. That's the most hits Cagle has posted since back in October of 2024. Claire Carlson was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Cherokee Bluff was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .533. They are a perfect 7-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Cherokee Bluff's record now sits at 10-6. As for Oconee County, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-15.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cherokee Bluff will challenge North Gwinnett at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Oconee County, they will square off against East Jackson at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
