Encinal and Head-Royce squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but Encinal had to settle for second. They fell to the Head-Royce Jayhawks 53-48. The Jets' defeat signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Encinal lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Jazzy Alcantar, who dropped a double-double with 17 points and ten boards. That was a full 35.4% of Encinal's points, marking the third time in a row Alcantar has posted more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Haley Huynh, who went 5-for-9 to rack up 11 points and four steals.

Encinal's loss dropped their record down to 19-9. As for Head-Royce, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 19-4.

Looking ahead, Encinal will welcome Argonaut at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Head-Royce, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Fortune Early College at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
