Basketball Recap: Vanguard College Prep Comes Up Short

Vanguard College Prep won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune on Friday. They came up short against the Stockton Christian Eagles, falling 37-14. The loss continues a trend for the Lions in their matchups with the Eagles: they've now lost seven in a row.

Stockton Christian had a senior duo take command as Kayla Sanchez posted 13 points and Jami Araya put up 11 points. That makes it three consecutive games in which Sanchez has scored at least a third of Stockton Christian's points.

Vanguard College Prep's defeat dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Stockton Christian, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-8.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Vanguard College Prep will welcome Stockton Christian at 5:00 p.m. on January 27th. As for Stockton Christian, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Adventure Christian at 6:00 p.m.
