Centura had won 12 straight at home dating back to last season, but on Friday they bumped up to 23-7 to make it 13. Everything went their way against the Malcolm Clippers as they made off with a 13-1 win. The Centurions might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 14 matchups by six runs or more this season.
Calleigh Sundberg was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She tossed four innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with three RBI and one double.
In other batting news, Lauren Suntych was a standout: she went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, four runs, and two RBI. Emma Jacobs was another key player, going a perfect 4-for-4 with four RBI and two doubles.
Centura was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .517. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .357 or higher in four consecutive contests.
